About Moruya Seaplane Flights

Whale Watching Flights

South Coast Seaplane’s home is in the centre lane of the ‘Humpback Highway”.   The whale watching season runs from September to November annually, and during their southern migration whales are moving slowly, often with calves and close to the coastline. The waters surrounding Montague Island are rich in krill and close to the edge of the continental shelf, making them a popular feeding ground for whales, especially female whales and their nursing calves.

We can tailor a flight to allow you the best chance to see these beautiful creatures from the air, from where you can see their every move both on and below the surface without disturbing them. Call our friendly team for details.

Toll Gate Island Flights

Departing the Moruya River, we head north towards the famous Broulee beach, passing Broulee Island and continuing on towards the beach side towns of Rosedale, Malua Bay and Lilli Pilli. We get an outstanding view of Toll Gate Islands Nature Reserve before turning east towards the Clyde Bridge at Batemans Bay, gaining a wonderful view of the lower Clyde Estuary. Turning south we head across the Mogo State Forest for fabulous views of the mountains to the west, before descending for a graceful water landing on the Moruya river.

Tuross Falls Flights

A seaplane is the perfect way to experience the awesome beauty of Tuross Falls. We depart from the water at either Moruya or Narooma and climb our way into the mountains of the Wadbilliga National Park to the west of the Eurobodalla. As we leave the coast behind us we get amazing views of the rocky escarpments and rugged bushland that mark the edge of the Monaro Plateau. After 15 minutes we reach the Tuross Gorge, and circle to get a spectacular view of the falls. An even more amazing view awaits as we turn: below us the entire Eurobodalla coastline is visible in the distance below. We then begin a gentle descent which follows the river as it meanders from the gorge and through the picturesque Nerrigundah valley and makes its way to the sea at Tuross Head. We then return for a beautiful landing on the water at our departure point.
